Top 10 of 2022: Favourite Characters

This is always one of my favourite posts to create… because what is a book without a wonderful character? This was so difficult to decide but here you go… my Top 10 Favourite Characters of 2022.

10. Lucy / Lucifer from The House in the Cerulean Sea
Who’d have thought that the person to teach our main character so much would be the young antichrist themselves? I loved Lucy. His insane comments constantly had me laughing, and I just fell in love with him. He was so funny and gorgeous. He might say stuff about killing and torturing people, but he truly had such a pure heart.

9. Charlie from Heartstopper
Charlie is such an iconic character. I had never read the Heartstopper comics because I’m not usually a comic / graphic novel lover but after watching the TV show I couldn’t not read them. To see a young Teen boy going through mental health struggles was so raw and real and refreshing. I love him!

8. Ali from A River of Silver
As a huge Daevabad fangirl, I couldn’t wait to read A River of Silver and this just cemented my absolute adoration of him. The last novella set after the whole trilogy was EVERYTHING!

7. Katsa from Graceling
I’m going way back to the start of the year as I read Graceling in January but I just remember loving how real and badass Katsa was. I still haven’t continued this series because I know book 2 is about other characters and I am not ready to let Katsa go!

6. Ana from Crimson Reign
Of course Ana had to make this list. She is a freaking queen… who has the power to change everything for her people. Talk about wonderful character ARCs. If you haven’t read this trilogy… where you been?

5. Hazel from Josh and Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating
Hazel is probably the romance book heroine I admire and connect with the most. She’s a teacher (like I am) and she’s seen as a bit kooky and a bit weird… and I always feel like that’s how I am perceived by everything so I just adored how she was so unashamedly her! I love her!

4. Jaren from The Blood Traitor
I love him so so so much! He’s the sweetest and even after losing so much he is still there fighting with Kiva to help her! He’s just perfect!

3. Levi from Love On The Brain
I don’t know what it is about Levi… he’s just so wonderful and perfect. The way he just accepts that Bee hates him, but still does absolutely everything to protect her… he’s just so amazing. I need me a Levi!

2. Sidrah from A River Enchanted
I loved Sidrah! She’s such a strong and epic character. She’s not your typical kick-ass fantasy heroine, but she just tries her absolute best to protect everyone on the island and I admire her so much! What a character!

1. Nyktos / Ash from A Light in the Flame
I thought I couldn’t love him more… until I read this book. Casteel who? It’s all about Ash! He is the epitome of the good guy deep down! And I adore him more than anything for it. He’s right up there with my favourite JLA hero’s of all time. I can’t wait for the third book!
