From Goodreads:
Bestselling author S.A. Chakraborty’s acclaimed Daevabad Trilogy gets expanded with this new compilation of stories from before, during, and after the events of The City of Brass, The Kingdom of Copper, and The Empire of Gold, all from the perspective of characters both beloved and hated, and even those without a voice in the novels. The River of Silver gathers material both seen and new—including a special coda fans will need to read—making this the perfect complement to those incredible novels.

A prospective new queen joins a court whose lethal history may overwhelm her own political savvy…

An imprisoned royal from a fallen dynasty and a young woman wrenched from her home cross paths in an enchanted garden…

A pair of scouts stumble upon a secret in a cursed winter wood that will turn over their world…

Now together in one place, these stories of Daevabad enrich a world already teeming with magic and wonder. From Manizheh’s first steps towards rebellion to adventures that take place after The Empire of Gold, this is a must-have collection for those who can’t get enough of Nahri, Ali, and Dara and all that unfolded around them.

There are no words to actually describe my excitement for this book. I am such a huge fan of the Daevabad series. I first read The City of Brass as an ARC that came in my Illumicrate box and I fell head over heels in love with this series. It is one of my all time favourites, and one I get the urge to re-read over and over again. When I first heard about this book, a collection of short stories set in the Daevabad world, I literally squealed out loud! I couldn’t wait. And while I actually physically read this series, as it came out as an audiobook first, I downloaded it and dived in as soon as my preorder hit my Audible account. I had such high expectations of this book and is surpassed each and every one of them.

The River of Silver is a collection of short stories that are set at different points throughout the Daevabad series and oh my word… I loved each and every one. Whether they were told from the perspective of a new character, or whether it was my beloved characters from the original trilogy I just adored it. It was so beautiful to be back in a world I love as much as this one. And some of the novellas are everything I ever could have wanted. My personal favourite is the Nahri short story set after the events of the whole trilogy. It was everything I ever could have wanted after the slightly open ending. Whenever I read a collection of short stories, usually there is at least one that I find kind of boring and like less than the others. This was not the case here. Every single one just added to my love and obsession for this world and these characters!

The River of Silver was phenomenal! I can’t wait to get my hard copy to go along with my others. This audiobook just made me want to re-read the entire series. I was so tempted to do so immediately but I think it would be even better to wait for my hardcopy of this book so I can read these short stories in real time along with the rest of the series.

I loved each and every moment of this phenomenal book! If you haven’t read any of the Daevabad books yet, I urge you to do so! I promise you will not be disappointed. If you love high fantasy, in a middle eastern world then this is the series for you! Go read it!
