From Goodreads:
She’d failed them. All of them. And now she was paying the price.

Kiva thought she knew what she wanted—revenge. But feelings change, people change… everything has changed.

After what happened at the palace, Kiva is desperate to know if her friends and family are safe, and whether those she wronged can ever forgive her. But with the kingdoms closer to the brink of war than they’ve ever been, and Kiva far away from the conflict, more is at stake than her own broken heart.

A fresh start will mean a perilous quest, forcing mortal enemies and uneasy allies together in a race against the clock to save not just Evalon, but all of Wenderall. With her loyalties now set, Kiva can no longer just survive—she must fight for what she believes in. For who she believes in. But with danger coming from every side, and the lives of everyone she loves at risk, does she have what it takes to stand, or will she fall?

There are no words to describe just how excited I was for this book. I first started this series last year, when the first book, The Prison Healer, was featured in a Fairyloot box. I immediately fell head over heels in love with this series. It brought back my absolute love and obsession for YA Fantasy, and I have been dying to get my hands on this final instalment for months, to see how it was all going to end. I had such high expectations of this book… and it smashed each and every one clear out of the park. This book was, in a word, phenomenal!

We were left hanging from the cliffhanger of The Gilded Cage and The Blood Traitor picks up right where we left off. If there is one thing that Lynette Noni can do, it is write one hell of a cliffhanger. I was so happy to see this book picked back up immediately and I was thrown head over heels back into this world. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. I seriously couldn’t put it down. Lynette Noni is such a phenomenal author, she really grabs your attention within the first page and does not let it go until you have devoured the entire book. She did this, once again with The Blood Traitor. I was racing through pages dying to see what was going to happen to my beloved characters.

This book is one of the most emotional books I think I have ever read. Right from the start I was completely and utterly broken hearted for Kiva and the guilt and hate that she has for herself because of her actions in the previous book. She really goes through a journey in this one, and I loved each and every moment of it. I actually adore series where the female lead character is the one who does the betraying, rather than the male, because we get to see the ins and outs of their thoughts while doing the betraying… and the aftereffects. This is a major role in this book and it brought me such heartbreak… in the best possible way. This book was a journey of healing for Kiva and I adored every second.

The Blood Traitor was an absolutely perfect ending for a fantastic series. I even ended up having a new favourite character, someone who I hated in previous books. I loved that we saw all of these different sides to characters we thought we knew before. It was just such a perfect journey for everyone. No matter if it was the lead characters, or the smaller side characters, everyone came full circle and got their deserved ending. This series is one of my all time favourites. I adored every single page of all three books. It is one I will read again and again, and I really cannot praise and recommend this book enough! If you haven’t read it yet, what the hell are you waiting for? Go pick it up right now! Lynette Noni is a genius, and has sealed herself firmly on my auto-buy author list. I adore her, and cannot wait to see what she writes next (PS, please be a Prison Healer spin-off!).
