2023 Reading Challenges
It’s 2023… which means that it is time to share with you all of my challenges this year. Some of these are challenges I set myself every year, such as my Series and ARC challenges, but some are new.
General Reading Challenge
Last year I challenged myself to read 52 books and I ended up reading 100. This is the first time I have hit 100 books read since I started teaching full time 8 years ago. While I’m hoping my love on audiobooks will help me achieve this again, in a bid to not put pressure on myself I am challenging myself to read 70 books.
My Series Challenge
I am notoriously bad at finishing series. I am not a binge reader as I know many people are so I often start a series and then never go back to them. Currently I am sitting on 60 series that I have started and not finished. 31 of these I only have the final book to read. So focusing on those 31, I am aiming to finish at least 12 of them.
TBR Challenge
As always, I am aiming to reduce my TBR… this time I have actually sorted out a graphic for my instagram to track this. I am starting the year with 557 books that I own but have not read. Honestly, I know I will buy books in the year so my challenge is just to end the year with this number being lower. Even if it’s only lower by a few, that will be an achievement for me.
Read 12 Books Recommended by 12 Friends
I tried this challenge in 2022, and I only managed to read 3 or 4 of them. This year I am picking one of these a month to read (minimum) in the hope I will read all of them. I got lots of recommendations, but these are the ones I have selected.
Catch Up On ARCs
As I’ve been a blogger since 2011, I have received A LOT of ARCs in that time. The number will be in the top hundreds, and there are still some that I haven’t read yet. So even though I do have some 2023 ARCs to read, I am aiming to reduce some of my pre-2023 ARCs. I am currently sat on 56 unread, and I would like to reduce that number.
What sort of challenges are you doing this year? Let me know!
