Romance Books I Read in One Sitting

Last month I read an ARC of the new romance book by one of my all time favourite authors, Paige Toon. I devoured that entire book in one sitting. Upon reflection after this, I realised that it has been a really long time since I was able to sit and read the whole book in one go. There’s lots of factors that go into this, how addictive I find the book is definitely one factor, but also just having the time to be able to sit and for a prolonged period of time is definitely another. As I get older, I find it harder to sit and devour a book like I used to in my Teens or early 20s. But having this happen again had me reminiscing on the books that I just could not put down. Here are some romance books that over the years, I read in one sitting and found completely unputdownable!

Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paige Toon – the book that inspired this post. I just absolutely couldn’t put this one down. It’s heartbreaking in the best way, but in the most romantic way possible as well. I absolutely adore this book. Paige Toon’s best work to date.

Love On The Brain by Ali Hazelwood – Ali’s second book and my favourite (well at least until you all get to read Love Theoretically). This book was stunning and fun. I couldn’t put it down and it just made me feel all of the feels!

Josh and Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating by Christina Lauren – Say what you want about the more popular books by Christina Lauren, but this is my favourite. It’s adorable and sweet and I just loved every moment of it. It’s absolutely one of my all time favourite romance books and one I will definitely be re-reading this summer.

The Switch by Beth O’Leary – The Flat Share is definitely the one of Beth’s books that is the most popular, but this one is just incredible. I adored that it has a romance in it, but also looks at familial relationships. I want to be the main character’s grandmother when I’m older, because she is the best!

In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren – This one was the very first Christina Lauren book I read. I read this at a time where I wasn’t big into romance books, and the time travel/stuck in a time loop aspect of this was perfect for the magic lover in me. I adore it, and it is on my ‘Christmas Re-Reads’ that I will be reading every year to get me in the Christmas Spirit.

Stay Another Day by Juno Dawson – Okay… I’m kind of cheating with this one as while it is contemporary, it’s not really a romance. It’s raw and gritty and real… and it has the best representation of LGBTQ+ characters and it’s just so so good! Even though it’s not romance, I did read it in one sitting and I just recommend it to everyone.

Have you read any of these? What books did you find difficult to put down?
