From Goodreads:
Where there are ghosts, Cassidy Blake follows … unless it’s the other way around?

Cass thinks she might have this ghost-hunting thing down. After all, she and her ghost best friend, Jacob, have survived two haunted cities while travelling for her parents’ TV show.

But nothing can prepare Cass for New Orleans, which wears all of its hauntings on its sleeve. In a city of ghost tours and tombs, raucous music and all kinds of magic, Cass could get lost in all the colourful, grisly local legends. And the city’s biggest surprise is a foe Cass never expected to face: a servant of Death itself.

Cass takes on her most dangerous challenge yet…

“Death will come for us again, one way or another. We can’t live in fear of it. That’s no way to live at all.”

I have been a huge fan of VE Schwab ever since I read her adult book Vicious quite a few years ago. Ever since then I have read and devoured almost everything she has written. When Bridge of Souls released in March earlier this year, I purposefully left it till October to read it because I love reading this series around Halloween time. It’s perfectly fun and creepy and it’s become my seasonal thing of every October I’ll read a Cassidy Blake book.

Bridge of Souls was, without a doubt, the best book of the series so far. It’s filled with twists and turns that will have your head spinning. Right from the very start, I couldn’t put it down. I was sat on the edge of my seat, dying to find out what was going to happen to Cassidy and her ghostly friends. I ended up devouring this book in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down.

One thing I love about this series is that they are fun, quick reads. With them being middle grade books, they are super easy to read and I end up flying through them. Perfect for bumping up that TBR! I also love that while, yes, they are aimed at an audience much younger than myself, they are still so spooky and creepy that I still get chills while reading them. And Bridge of Souls was definitely the spookiest and creepiest of them all.

I was on the edge of my seat, completely freaked out, while also unable to stop reading. It was definitely the most emotional of the three books as well. I was freaked out because of the creepy non-human creatures that were after our favourite in-betweener, but also because I was legit terrified that something bad was going to happen. I was so scared and couldn’t read fast enough to make sure all my favourites were okay by the end.

I loved every single moment of Bridge of Souls. It was fun, thrilling and creepy. Everything you could possibly need in a book at this time of year. If you’re looking for a fun, quick read that is perfect for spooky season, I cannot recommend this series enough. I am hoping that Victoria Schwab will write another on in this series, because I seriously just can’t get enough.

“But nothing can predict your future, Cassidy, because futures aren’t predictable. They’re full of mysteries and chances, and the only person who decides what happens in them is you.”
