The Best Villains

My favourite part of a good book is having a good villain. I’m one of these readers that just loves to hate them. If I absolutely despise a character… that means the author has done one hell of a good job creating that villain. I decided to compile a list of my five favourite villains from some of the books that I have read.

K-Books Favourite Villains

1. Victor from Vicious by VE Schwab

Vicious is the first VE Schwab book I read and I absolutely loved it. It’s a great book about the thin line between hero and villain and it really makes you question what a villain is. Victor is one of our main characters who is the protagonist. He’s technically a hero… but he is also a villain. I think that makes the best kind of villain as you get to see both sides of the story.

2. President Snow from The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes / The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

President Snow is one of my all time favourite villains because I absolutely despised him. In The Hunger Games trilogy I couldn’t wait for him to get him comeuppance. In Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes I loved seeing how he went from this poor Capital boy to the utter evil person we all know. I love to hate him because he truly is a great villain.

3. AIDAN from Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae is one of my all time fave books. It’s amazing and AIDAN is a very different kind of villain. He’s technically a computer programme but he tries to keep our love interests apart and kills a whole load of people. Even though he’s clearly a crazy and homicidal computer programme I just love him. He’s amazing.

4. Katherine from Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

Three Dark Crowns is one of my all time favourite fantasy series. It’s amazing. It’s the story of three sisters and the one that survives is the one who will be queen. Katherine is definitely the villain out of the three of them and I absolutely loved her. I know she was the one who was planning on murdering all of her sisters but it was definitely because of the Poisoners who had brought her up. I really felt for her and actually really liked her.

5. Caden from The Wicked Series by Jennifer L Armentrout

Caden had to be on my list as one of my favourite villains. I absolutely despised him throughout the entire trilogy. He was the epitome of evil and completely non-redeemable… until he was redeemable in the following novellas. Jennifer did such a fantastic job at developing this amazing villain.
