The Brightest Night is without a doubt one of my most anticipated releases of 2020. It’s no surprise to anyone how much I adore Jennifer L Armentrout’s books, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one and find out what was going to happen next to Luc and Evie. I fell in love with this world of Luxens 9 years ago and I still adore it. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen with all of my beloved characters, from both series. I was not disappointed whatsoever. The Brightest Night was fast paced, action packed and I couldn’t put it down.

The Brightest Night picks up exactly where The Burning Shadow left off, with Luc and Evie reeling from the news that Jason Dasher, head of the Deadalus, is actually still alive. As Luc and Evie try desperately to get control of her growing powers and stay as safe as possible, they find themselves dealing with things they never could have imagined. Will they be able to survive the things to come… and will they be able to survive them together?

The Brightest Night is without a doubt one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read. I found myself in tears many times… and sometimes it wasn’t even a sad moment, it was a happy moment and I still found myself overly emotional and crying. That’s how powerful Jen’s writing, characters and storytelling is. I was just so invested in this story and the characters and I couldn’t put the book down. I did feel like it was a little bit slow to start with but then once I got about 20% into the book I flew through it. I was so enamoured with this story. When I was reading it I couldn’t fly through the pages fast enough, when I wasn’t reading, I couldn’t stop thinking about what was going to happen, and dying to get back home so I could pick my book back up.

This book was just utterly brilliant. It is filled to the brim with beautiful romantic moments that will make your heart melt. I just fell head over heels in love with Luc and Evie more than ever and I just want to see them together having their happy ever after. In addition to the heartwarming romance it is filled to the brim with drama and tense plot lines that you can’t stop reading, while at the same time feeling so anxious about what is going to happen. I loved every single moment of it.

Jennifer has once again outdone herself. In typical Jennifer fashion she dashes everything you thought you knew about the storyline and leaves you reeling. I was left mouth agape unable to believe what had just happened. I loved every single second of this book and I can’t wait to get my hands on the fourth and final Origin book next year. It’s going to be one hell of a ride… and I am here for it! The Brightest Night was in a word… perfection!
