Halloween Reads for Non-Horror Readers
I love Halloween! You might have guessed this by the fact that I’ve practically had a Halloween-themed month on the blog. My biggest issue about this is that fact that I am such a big baby. I get scared so easily so I am not a lover of Horror. It’s practically the only genre that I don’t read. So I tend to have a list of books that are Halloween-themed, or inspired by things that can be linked to Halloween, for me to read. I thought I’d share with you a few books that I have loved that can be linked to Halloween.
Category 1: Vampires, Werewolves and Ghosts
Vampire Academy and Glass Houses are great Halloween reads as they centre around vampires. I love a good vampire read near Halloween and these are two of my absolute favourite vampire series.
Sanctum and Dirty Blood are two of my favourite werewolf books. They’re incredible romances and perfect for a awesome wolf-shifter storyline
City of Ghosts is a middle grade book about some ghost hunters. I loved it. It’s a perfect spooky read for people who don’t like things too scary.
Category 2: Witches and Demons
Sweet Evil and The Collector are awesome demon related books. There’s a fantastic romance in both of them. Sweet Evil is about a demon of lust; The Collector about a demon who gets to collect the souls of the bad guys for the ‘Boss Man’. I loved both of them.
Staying on theme with demons, White Hot Kiss has an amazing demon as the main guy; Exiled follows a demon hunter as he comes to grips with his power.
The Darkest Powers is an amazing trilogy about a group of witches learning how to use their powers. There’s epic action and heart melting romance.
Category 3: Thrillers
Till Death and Don’t Look Back are two of the very first thrillers I ever read. They made me fall in love in the genre. They’re creepy yet utterly romantic.
Sawkill Girls was an incredibly creepy mystery based on an island where young girls are going missing. I was so intrigued by this one.
One of Us is Lying is one of my all time favourite YA thrillers. It had me changing my mind about ‘who dunnit’ every chapter and I loved that!
Vendetta is a utterly romantic mafia story. I’d never read anything quite like it before but I absolutely loved every single second of the entire trilogy. It’s s mystery thriller of someone targeting the mafia family. I absolutely adore this series.
Have you read any of these?
