My 5 Favourite Audiobook Listens of 2025

As the end of the year draws closer, I have started thinking about what books I want to include in my ‘Favourites’ list and I always put books I’ve listened to and read physically together for those lists, so before my official year wrap up starts, I thought it would be nice to do a post completely dedicated to the audiobooks that I have listened to.

So far in 2025, I have listened to 25 audiobooks… here are the 5 that were my absolute favourite.

  • An Heir Comes to Rise by CC Penaranda is an Adult Epic Fantasy / Romantasy series and the narrator did an absolutely fantastic job. I loved every moment of this one. I will definitely be continuing the series, however I was devastated to realise that the rest of the series is narrated by a different narrator and so I will be continuing this one via Physical book / E-Book.
  • Girl Goddess Queen by Bea Fitzgerald is a YA retelling of the Hades and Persephone myth. I loved this one and I am so glad I chose the audiobook for this one as it truly was fantastic! It is narrated by Jenny Walser (a.k.a Tori from Heartstopper) and she was just wonderful. I will definitely be looking out for more audiobooks that she has narrated. I adored it and I will definitely be continuing this series. I have yet to decide whether that will be physically or via audio.
  • Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver is an Adult Dark Romance. This book is very far out of my comfort zone, but I cannot dispute the fact that the narrators made this book for me. I found it hilarious and I think that was because of how humerous both narrators are. Despite the fact that I will not be continuing this series, I cannot deny that this is an incredible production on part of the audio edition. I genuinely this if I had been reading this one physically, it would have been a DNF for me.
  • Spark of the Everflame… or really the entire Kindred’s Curse Saga by Penn Cole. This is a NA Romantasy and I absolutely loved every moment of it. It truly was fantastic. I would even go so far as to say that this is my favourite Romantasy series to date. I loved it so much, and the narrator(s) were utterly fantastic. I will definitely be continuing this series when the fourth book releases, and I will more than likely be doing it via audio. What can I say chunky books scare me, and the audio editions make it better for me.
  • The Spell shop By Sarah Beth Durst is an Adult Cosy Fantasy and it was just so cute and cosy and wonderful. It was everything that I needed at the time of picking this one up. I will definitely be continuing the series, and I will be doing so via Audio. I’ve already downloaded the second book, and I am super exciting to continue the series early in the new year.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
