2025 is going to be the year that I do more posts spotlighting some of my favourite reads and series. Whether they be new or old. These posts will not be a review but just giving you some more information about some books and why you should read them. I’m starting strong with one of my all time favourite series, the Blood for Blood Series by Catherine Doyle. The series has recently been republished and I thought this was the perfect time for me to promote it and find this amazing series some new readers.

This series is a phenomenal young adult contemporary series. When I first read it back in 2015, Mafia Romance wasn’t really a thing, so I always said it was a contemporary romance with a thriller / suspense feel to it.

It follows Sophie, a normal 16-year old girl living in a small town in America. When five mysterious brothers move to town in the notorious abandoned mansion, Sophie is curious. Who are they and why are there so many secrets surrounding the family. She is determined to find out more about them and what is going on and she is thrown into their dangerous mafia family.

I adore everything about this series and I’ve heard people saying ‘how can you do a YA mafia romance?’ and while it might sound super strange, I’ve actually read quite a few YA books that have mafia families in them. It’s not a new thing. And mafia romance doesn’t have to be spicy. It’s more about the danger surrounding the family. There is murder and mystery and criminal acts filled to the brim in this dangerous and exciting trilogy and I think everyone should give it a go as it’s honestly a masterpiece.

I’m Kayleigh, a teacher and blogger who is obsessed with all things bookish. I love reading YA books of all genres and I am happiest when sharing my love and passion for books.
