5 Older Series That Deserve More Hype
As someone who has been blogging and reviewing for longer than 10 years now, I’ve read a hell of a lot of books and series. There are some that really stick out for me still today that I love more than anything and really wish they still had as much hype today as they did back then. So here are 5 older series that I think deserve to still be hyped today.
The Morganville Vampires Series by Rachel Caine will forever be my favourite! I am currently re-reading this series and it has just reminded me how much I absolutely adored every single moment of this amazing Vampire series.
Vampire Academy will always be on any list like this. It was the first Vampire series post-Twilight that I read and absolutely loved. So much more action and intrigue as well. I loved every moment of this series.
The Host is in my opinion Stephanie Meyer’s better work. While everyone was obsessing over Twilight, I was obsessing over The Host. It’s a YA Sci-fi book and it was my very first sci-fi read. I have so much love for The Host and I really wish that Stephanie Meyer has decided to make this one a series rather than Twilight.
Of course, I had to include a JLA series in here. Obsidian was my first JLA book, back in 2011 and I still have so much love for this series. I know JLA gets a lot of hype now for her From Blood and Ash series but I think the Lux series deserves all of that hype and more.
And finally, one that I don’t think got any hype at all! Tiger Lily is a perfect retelling of Peter Pan told from the story of Tiger Lily, the person who knew him before he ever met Wendy. I loved every single second of this phenomenal book and it is a crime that it is not that well known… it should be!
What books do you think deserve more hype?

The Lux series is what brought me into the JLA fandom and it was completely by mistake. I thought it was a book my daughter was reading so I downloaded it. It turned out she was reading something completely different with Pepe Toth on the cover. But it still got me into the Lux series and into JLAs world. FBBA et al is great and all but I’m still beholden too the older books.
The Host was a better book than the Twilight series was.
