Children’s Books I Would Still Read As An Adult

Everyone who knows me well knows that 99% of what I read are YA books. There’s just something about them that I love. But I also have a soft spot for middle grade and children’s books. I don’t think there should ever be an age limit on books. You’re never ‘too old’ to read anything. Here are a few children’s books that I will never ever get sick of.

The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher is actually one that I read first as an adult. I just adore cute Christmas stories and this one is adorable! It’s firmly on my must-read list every single Christmas. It’s super fun, and if you’re a musical fan like me, the musical version of the Audiobook is perfection.

The Twits by Roald Dahl… Honestly I struggled to pick just one Roald Dahl book here, so this is really symbolises all Roald Dahl books. They are classics and so fun to read no matter your age! I love all of his books, they’re quick and fun reads and I always feel so nostalgic when I read them.

The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy was my absolute favourite series when I was younger. This was probably the first paranormal/fantasy type book series that I read and it’s thanks to this series I love paranormal novels so much. I remember obsessing over the books (and the TV show) and it’s one that I would absolutely read again now as an adult. I just love it!

Vicky Angel by Jacqueline Wilson… No list of amazing Children’s books would be complete without mentioning the absolute hero that is Jacqueline Wilson. Vicky Angel is probably one of her more obscure titles, but it was always my absolute favourite. Definitely geared towards the older end of childhood, with some darker themes explored here I just adored every single moment of this book and it is one I could read again and again forever. Jacqueline Wilson is actually attending a signing I’m going to in a few weeks and I have chosen this one to go and get signed as I adore it so much.
