Cole St. Clair has come to California for one reason: to get Isabel Culpeper back. She fled from his damaged, drained life, and damaged and drained it even more. He doesn’t just want her. He needs her.lost.
Isabel is trying to build herself a life in Los Angeles. It’s not really working. She can play the game as well as all the other fakes…but what’s the point? What is there to win?sinner.
Cole and Isabel share a past that never seemed to have a future. They have the power to save each other and the power to tear each other apart. The only thing for certain is that they cannot let go.
“I can’t change the way I’m made. I’m a performer, a singer, a werewolf, a sinner.”
I finished the original Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy years ago. I absolutely loved that series and I remember when I finished it feeling like I really wanted more from Cole and Isabel. Now, as part of my catch up on ongoing series challenge, I finally picked up Sinner. I really enjoyed Sinner. It was a really cute and enjoyable read. Unfortunately I didn’t love it quite as much as I thought I would, but I am really glad that I finally picked it up.
I really loved seeing more from Cole and Isabel. They were two of my favourite characters from the original trilogy and I am so glad they finally got their happy ever after. It was amazing to see how much they have changed and developed from the time they were in the original trilogy. I really enjoyed revisiting with them.
My one gripe about this book is that it definitely leans more towards a contemporary romance book rather than a paranormal romance. The Wolves of Mercy Falls is a paranormal series involving werewolves and in this one, the wolves were maybe mentioned once or twice and that was it. It was definitely focused on the romance between Cole and Isabel. Which is great… but I really went into this one looking forward to that werewolf aspect and I just didn’t get it. I was a little disappointed by that.
I listened to this one on audio and I really commend both of the narrators. There was two narrators, one for Cole and one for Isabel, and both of them really embodied these characters and did a fantastic job of bringing them to life. I really enjoyed their narration and I will definitely be looking out for some more of their audiobooks in the future. They were a fantastic choice!
Sinner was a fun and romantic novel. I’m so glad I finally read it. If you’re a romance fan then this one is definitely for you. Unfortunately, I ended up really missing the paranormal aspect for this one. It’s still definitely worth the read.
“What I wanted was: I wanted. Isabel.”
