Summer Reads I Loved

It’s summer… I think! I am sat writing this on my summer holidays from work… as it is pissing down with rain outside… Typical British Summertime! I am not usually a contemporary lover but there’s just something about the summer that makes me want to read a good cute romance. So here are 5 of my favourite contemporaries that make me really feel like it’s summer.

Geek Girl by Holly Smale is such a cute unique YA Contemporary. It’s not overly romance based but follows a very intelligent ‘geek’ who gets a job as a model. It’s hilarious and such a fun, quick read.

#Nerd by Cambria Hebert is a super adorable romance between a Nerd and a super popular guy at an American College. I absolutely loved this one. It’s super fun and a romantic, steamy read.

The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson by Paige Toon. Ever imagined you’d find out your Dad was a super famous rock star and you’d end up uprooting your whole life to move in his Hollywood Mansion? That’s the premise of this amazing book. Paige Toon is my favourite chick lit author so I absolutely devoured this YA trilogy. I re-read these ones often.

A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood is a stunning historical book. It’s perfect for summer and transports you to summertimes in the past where you may spend your time preparing for balls. I loved every moment.

Sparks by Wendy Higgins is the most recent release on this list. It follows a flight attendant as she joins a dating app and tries to fit in falling in love with her busy job. I loved it. It’s such a fun, lighthearted romance.

Lovely list! Definitely agree on #Nerd and Geek Girl. Haven’t read the others but they do look good! I don’t really have specific season books (as in books I read because it is x season). But I do have some books featuring summer, though I have forgotten the titles, haha. I do know one is by Morgan Matson and I got a couple of Sarah Dessen books that take place during summer.
