From Goodreads:
Ana Mikhailov is the only surviving member of the royal family of Cyrilia. She has no army, no title, and no allies, and now she must find a way to take back the throne or risk the brutal retribution of the empress. Morganya is determined to establish a new world order on the spilled blood of non-Affinites. Ana is certain that Morganya won’t stop until she kills them all.

Ana’s only chance at navigating the dangerous world of her homeland means partnering with Ramson Quicktongue again. But the cunning crime lord has schemes of his own. For Ana to find an army, they must cross the Whitewaves to the impenetrable stone forts of Bregon. Only, no one can be certain what they will find there.

A dark power has risen. Will revolution bring peace–or will it only paint the streets in more blood.

Fans of Children of Blood and Bone will love the sequel to Blood Heir. The second book in an epic fantasy series about a princess hiding a dark secret and the con man she must trust to liberate her empire from a dark reign.

“She was Anastacya Mikhailov, blood affinite and rightful Empress of Cyrilia. And she would fight for her people.”

There are no words to describe just how excited I am to have my hands on Red Tigress. Blood Heir was one of the biggest surprised for me of 2020. I never would have picked it up had it not been a book that I got in my Illumicrate… yet I loved every single second it. Right from the moment I finished Blood Heir I was dying to get my hands on the second book. I had such high expectations for Red Tigress and it surpassed every single one of them.

Red Tigress completely hooked me from the get go! I was thrown back into this absolutely stunning and incredible world and I just couldn’t put it down. Right from the start I was just obsessed with Ana’s journey and I was constantly shocked by what was happening. This book is filled with twists and turns and I loved every single one of them. I was racing through the pages as fast as I could because I was dying to see how it was all going to play out, but at the same time I never wanted the book to end.

One of the things I love about this series is how the storyline is the main focus but then we have this teasing of a slow burn romance in the background. I live for a slow burn romance in a fantasy book and Ana and Ramson’s is perfection. I am absolutely in love with them both and I am dying to see them get a happy ever after in the end. Their slow burn flirtations and building feelings for each other was everything I could have ever wanted and more.

Red Tigress was utter perfection. It was slightly slower paced than Blood Heir but that fit this book so much. You can see all these pieces starting to fit together ready for the finale of the series. I am usually not a lover of slow paced books as I get bored and lose interest. However, that did not happen here. I appreciated this slow pacing while Ana develops into the Empress she needs to be. It was very much a character development book and Amelie’s phenomenal writing style kept me hooked and in love throughout the entire book.

Red Tigress was everything I could have wanted from this sequel and more. I loved every single moment of it. I am left reeling and dying to get my hands on the final book. I was so shocked and heartbroken by what happened by the end of this one and I was just left in such an emotional state. This is fast becoming one of my favourite fantasy series of all time and I cannot wait to see how it all ends. If you’re looking for a new fantasy series I highly recommend this absolutely stunning epic fantasy that is loosely based on the Anastasia tale. It’s absolute perfection!

“Sometimes, bravery was not loud, or grand, or brilliant as the blaze of a thousand fires. Sometimes it was quiet, unremarkable, unknown. The resilient wend of water through rocks, year after year after year after year.”
