From bestselling author duo Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff comes the exciting finale in the trilogy that broke the mold and has been called “stylistically mesmerizing” and “out-of-this-world-awesome.”Kady, Ezra, Hanna and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza–but who knows what they’ll find seven months after the invasion?
Meanwhile, Kady’s cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza’s ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys – an old flame from Asha’s past – reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall and hearts will be broken.
“I have heard it said that evil is simply a point of view. The villain is always the hero in his own story. And the definitions of wrong and right ever shift on the instant tides of human morality.”
After falling head over heels in love with this series last year I couldn’t wait to see how it was all going to end and whether BeiTech would get their comeuppance. I am so happy I finally picked up Obsidio. This was such a fast paced, heart pounding finale to the series and I loved every moment. It was absolutely fantastic!
Obsidio was everything I ever could have wanted and more. Right from the very start I couldn’t read fast enough. I felt like there was more ‘proper reading’ in Obsidio than the previous two books. If you haven’t read this series you’ll be thinking… what on earth is she going on about? If you’ve read it, you’ll know what I mean. I felt like I read the first two books much faster than this as there wasn’t as many full prose elements as this one. That didn’t stop me loving this and wanting to read as fast as humanly possible to find out what was going to happen.
One thing I loved about Obsidio is that although we get two new protagonists in this one, we also see a lot of the couples we have already come to love in the first two books. I felt like we were getting three love stories all in one and as a hopeless romantic… I was here for it. I loved seeing Kady and Ezra together and what happened to Hanna and Nik as well. Although this series is mainly an action packed sci-fi, I do love the small hints of the romance that we also get.
One of my favourite parts of this series has to be AIDEN. Oh, AIDEN…. you’re a little psycho but I love you! I just absolutely love all of the parts with AIDEN and the perspectives from him. I just really understand his motives. He’s an AI, he doesn’t really do emotion and does things for the survival of the fleet… and I can totally understand that. I think he is just awesome.
Obsidio was a fantastic finale to this series. It was action packed, fast paced and heart stopping all the way through! I loved every single moment and was constantly left completely reeling with all the twists and turns waiting around every corner. It was the perfect ending and this is definitely one I will re-read over and over.
“There’s a billion different versions of you out there, in a trillion different universes. And I still can’t get over how lucky I am that, out of all those versions, you’re the one that’s mine.”

Aww, so glad you enjoyed it. I held off on reading this series for the longest time, because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it what with the unique style of the writing. But I loved it sooooo much, and I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the series! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
