My 2 Annual Festive Re-Reads

I’m such a big re-reader. I’ve always loved going back to favourite reads and enjoying them all over again. As we are now well and truly into the festive season, there are two festive reads that I always re-read every single year. So I thought I’d just share a little bit about them.

Re-Read 1

The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher

In particular, the musical edition of this book. I am a huge fan of Tom Fletcher anyway. I’ve read his YA books he co-wrote with his wife Giovanna, and I’ve been a big McFly fan for years. I know this one is aimed at children, but I just enjoy everything about it. Tom has written songs that go along with the story, and it’s just so cute and adorable, it always puts me in the festive mood.

I’ve actually already re-read this one. I finished it last weekend, and honestly I was a little bit sad to finish it. The audiobook edition is available with all the songs included where they fit in the story. This is the only audiobook I listen to on 1x speed. It’s just so beautiful and fun. I highly recommend it for both adults and children alike.

Re-Read 2

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Now this one became a tradition when I was at University. One of my friends at Uni told me how she always read A Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve every year. At this point, I’d never even read it but absolutely loved multiple movie adaptations of it. So I thought I would pick it up… and I loved it.

So I stole this tradition from my friend, and now I re-read A Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve. As it’s a novella it’s easily read in one day, and I just love reading it every year. This will be a tradition for me forever now. I’m even tempted to buy myself a beautiful new edition of this book this year, as mine is a very small battered paperback at this point.
