My Top 5 Recent YA Series Starters
I spent a good amount of time thinking about what to post this week. I’ve felt lately a little bit like my content is just recycled stuff that I have posted before and I’m running out of creative ideas. Tonight I will be attending my first book club of the year, and it will be my YA book club. This year the YA book club has to read a book for a prompt rather than a specific book, and this months prompt was the start of a series. So I decided to share with you today 5 of my favourite YA series starters. Some of these are books I read forever ago, but some of them are a bit more recent.
If you’re interested in any of these titles, you can click on the cover to see my spoiler free review.
- Twin Crowns is a more recently read book for me. I finished it at the end of 2024. It is a YA fantasy series and I can’t wait to continue the series.
- Vendetta is the start of a YA Mafia Romance / Suspense series. I originally read this one back in 2016 when it was first releasing, but I am currently re-reading the series after it has been re-released with new beautiful editions.
- Cinder is another older one. One of my favourite YA series of all time, I love everything about this YA fairytale retellings series that has a sci-fi twist.
- Divine Rivals was one I read just over a year ago. I love everything about Rebecca Ross’ writing and this YA historical fantasy with magical typewriters was no different. I adore it!
- The Naturals is the start of a YA criminal minds eske mystery series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I loved this first book and cannot wait to read more of the series.
