From Goodreads:
The eagerly-anticipated sequel to Tom Fletcher’s bestselling magical adventure, The Christmasaurus.‘She is the best-kept Christmas secret of all,’ whispered Santa Claus. ‘Which is surprising, because she is so powerful that Christmas itself would not exist without her. She is older than time itself, yet still as young as tomorrow. She is known only as the Winter Witch.’
A year has passed since a boy named William Trundle had an incredible adventure with the most extraordinary dinosaur: the Christmasaurus. Now, William is about to be swept back to the North Pole, and meet the icy, mysterious and magical Winter Witch, whose power to control time allows Santa to travel all around the world on Christmas Eve. And when William learns that the fate of Christmas hangs in the balance, he and the Christmasaurus must risk everything to save it . . .
Full of magic, music, and a friendship like no other, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch is the most enchanting Christmas read for the whole family.
After finishing the audiobook of The Christmasaurus, I couldn’t help but buy the next one on Audio as well. I jumped straight into it and I am so glad I did. I thought The Christmasaurus was amazing, but I honestly loved this one even more. It was even more fun, magical and heartwarming. I loved every single moment of it.
The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch follows our beloved Christmasaurus and his best friend William as they embark on another adventure to save Christmas. This time with William’s ex-enemy and future step-sister along for the ride. But can they all jump through time (literally) to save Christmas from disappearing forever?
I loved this one so much more. It had everything I loved from the first book and then added all that magic in with time travel. As a fantasy and sci-fi lover, I absolutely loved this element. There was a little bit of mystery as you try to guess what is going to happen and just who the winter witch it… yes, I guessed it correctly. I found it very predictable… but I am a 30-year-old reading a children’s book so I think that’s to be expected.
Again, the narrator just brought this story to life superbly. I just absolutely love the audio editions of this series. Do I wish there was a musical edition like there was for the first one? Of course… but it was still perfectly festive and heartwarming just as it is as well. I can’t wait to dive into the third Christmasaurus book.
