5 Series Set in Magical Schools
It’s August! That means the start of school for many people in the US, UK folk have a few weeks of glorious summer holidays left. For me, a teacher in a sixth form college, I went back to work after our summer break this week (we go back a little early). So as I have been thinking of new school years and getting everything sorted I thought I’d do a post about some awesome books that are set in Magical Schools. I love books like this. I always have and so here are five of my favourites.
Of course I had to include the amazing Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling. Now, this is a drama free space so please no comments about the current opinions of the author of this one. I first read Harry Potter back when I was around six years old. It’s my entire childhood and my first love always! And no list of amazing series set at magical schools would be complete without the mention of Hogwarts. I still adore everything about this series and I always will.
Next up is the Hex Hall Series by Rachel Hawkins. I remember reading this one so long ago, probably about a decade at least and I just loved it. It’s such a fun YA series about a school of witches. I really enjoyed this one and it will always be on my list of series that are set in magical schools.
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead just had to be on this list. Imagine going to a school filled with vampires and half-vampires all learning to control their powers and the half-vampires training to fight in order to protect the vampires from the other evils in the world. This is one of my all time favourite series, I just love every moment of it.
Linking in with Vampire Academy is my favourite series of all time, The Covenant Series by Jennifer L Armentrout. This one is similar to Vampire Academy but instead of vampires, we are at school with the descendants of the Greek Gods. I am such a huge lover of mythology so this is definitely the best one for me. I’ve read this series like 20+ times and I love is every time as if it was the first.
Finally, the amazing Mythos Academy Series by Jennifer Estep. This is another one where you are in school with the descendants of Greek Gods. It’s so different from Covenant though and you have mean girls, hot Spartan warriors and lots of danger. I loved this series so much.
