My Favourite Things: Vampires
This month on ‘My Favourite Things’ I thought I would write about the creature that started off my love of paranormal and fantasy books. When I was 16 years old, I picked up Twilight (as many of us did) and it started my love for paranormal. Now, I’m going to share with you 5 of my favourite books that have Vampires in them and five that are on my TBR.
Favourite Vampire Books
Vampire Academy is book 1 in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. This book follows Rose, a Dhampir, a half-vampire half-human, who attends a special academy that will prepare her to become a guardian so she can protect her best friend, who just so happens to be a vampire princess.
I read this one before starting reviewing so there is no review. Maybe I’ll re-read and finally review them at some point.
Glass Houses is the first book in the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine. Morganville Vampires series is my absolute favourite vampire series of all time. It follows Claire, a mortal science student who comes to Morganville for school. What she doesn’t know is that she has just moved to a town ran by vampires. Some evil… some not.
I read this one before starting reviewing so there is no review. Maybe I’ll re-read and finally review them at some point.
The Immortal Rules is book 1 in Julie Kagawa’s Blood of Eden series. I adore this series. It’s such a different take on vampires as it’s a dystopia novel with vampires. I loved that. I feel like vampires have been so overdone so I love it when I come across a new take on them.

The Beautiful is the first book in The Beautiful series by Renee Ahdieh. I absolutely loved this one, again because it was such a different take on vampires. This book is a New Orleans’ based murder mystery that just so happens to have vampires.

From Blood and Ash is book 1 in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L Armentrout. Now, this one I don’t actually consider a ‘Vampire Book’. It’s an epic fantasy series but some of the characters do resemble vampires with the immortal lifespan and drinking blood. This book is so epic and should be included on everyone’s TBR.

The Morganville Vampires series is so good! I loved how the main character is just a human, and that she relies on her intellect a lot, which is something I wasn’t reading much of at the time. And their friendship group is so sweet too. Idk if you read further on in the series, but Myrnin with his vampire bunny slippers was my absolute favourite. Definitely a series that deserves more hype!
