Notoriously bad at peopling, Isadora Savoie spends most of her time in the greenhouse or at the local animal shelter, using her Conduit powers of growth and healing. Content to remain in the background of the Savoie sister shenanigans, she’s reluctantly roped into the mystery of missing neighborhood girls. Now, she’s partnered with a flashy, flirty vampire to find them before it’s too late.
Devraj Kumar has seen and done it all. Three hundred years roaming the earth as a Stygorn — a legendary vampire warrior who operates in the shadows — has its perks. But ennui has set in. That is, until he has a run-in — literally — with an intriguing witch while on a new assignment in New Orleans. Fascinated by her resistance to his charms, Devraj can’t help but push her buttons in an effort to get to know the shy witch. Fortunately for him, she’s been recruited by the Lord of Vampires to assist Devraj on the case.
Between a Bollywood marathon, supernatural dating app, secret package, and sexy driving instruction, Isadora is in over her head. And Devraj? After just one taste, he’s playing for keeps.
After finished Wolf Gone Wild, I was excited to dive into more of the Stay A Spell Series. I love how cosy and fun these cute paranormal romances are. I was honestly surprised to find that this next book was Isadora’s story, I had been so certain that the first book was building up to Jules’ story… but I guess I’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one. Don’t Hex and Drive was super cute, fun and spicy. I really enjoyed it.
Don’t Hex and Drive follows the story of healing witch Isadora as she gets run down by the enigmatic force that is Devraj, a very hot and powerful vampire… literally… he hits her with his car. And so starts a budding attraction and romance between the two. One thing I really enjoyed about their story was that there was also a bit of a mystery. Human women are going missing and Devraj and the other vampires are trying to figure out what is happening to them. I really liked that element of the book, it kept the plot going. I personally prefer a strong plot outside of the romance, so this definitely made it enjoyable for me.
One thing that frustrated me about this one was the miscommunication trope. I absolutely get that we have to have some tension in the budding romance to keep us all interested and wanting the romance to happen, but my god did I want to bang these two heads together. I remember just constantly rolling my eyes going FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER! It drove me insane, and definitely affected my enjoyment of this one.
Overall it was fun and cute, exactly what I’ve come to expect from a Juliette Cross book. I really enjoyed it, but Wolf Gone Wild is definitely my favourite of the two. Regardless, I will definitely be diving into book 3 at some point. I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the series.

I hate the miscommunication trope. Sadly, it’s a major issue in my marriage because of my post concussion syndrome. I truly believe I’ve said something but I haven’t. That’s why I use Google calendar for all events. If it is on there it is happening.
