2025 Challenges Update: End of May

I had a bit of a slower reading month in May. I just felt very demotivated with reading again, and felt totally burnt out on romance. So I had a break to read an epic fantasy… but those take me longer to read so I ended up having a bit of a slower reading month. But here’s the reading I did do for my reading challenges.

Challenge 1: Finish A Series

At the end of April, I had finished 3 series and made progress on 2 series. In May, I read one more book for this challenge, again a mid-series book so I now have made progress on 3 series.

  • I read The Battle Drum by Saara El-Arifi, which is the second book in The Ending Fire trilogy. I loved it and can’t wait to read the final book in this trilogy.

Challenge 2: RARE London Challenge

At the end of April, I had read 7 books for RARE. This month there were a number of cancellations from authors so my RARE TBR significantly reduced anyway, but in addition I have read 3 books for RARE this month.

Challenge 3: Read 12 Books Recommended by 12 Friends

At the end of April, I had read 4 of 12 books. I haven’t made any further progress on this challenge as I have been focusing on RARE reads for this month. I will be catching up on this one in July after RARE has been.

Challenge 4: ARC Catch Up

At the end of April, I had read 3 books from this challenge. I didn’t make any further progress on this challenge either as I have been focusing on RARE reads. I will be catching up on this after RARE.
