Convincing You To Read… Vicious by VE Schwab

I’ve been thinking of my favourite books recently, and so have decided that I am going to pick one of my favourite books each month that I am going to post about and try and convince you to read it. This month I’m starting off strong with my favourite book of all time.

Vicious by VE Schwab was the first book by Schwab I picked up back in 2013. When I say this book changed my brain chemistry, I am not even kidding. This book changed who I am as a person and I cannot put into words just how much I love it. It’s just absolute perfection.

Vicious follows the story of Eli Ever and Victor Vale, who meet at university while studying a scientific discipline there. Through their interests and research, they discover that those in the world who are considered ‘superheroes’ all have one thing in common. They each had a near death experience, and came out of the other side with powers. So they start experimenting to try and discover if they can replicate this to give themselves powers. This book challenges everything you thought about heroes and villains. It’s truly phenomenal.
