Best and Worst Reads of 2025 Quarter 1

As we are nearing the end of the first quarter of the year, I thought I would share with you the best and the worst that I’ve read so far. I’ve read 21 books so far this year, at the point of writing this post (23/03). So here are all the books I’ve rated 5 stars and all the books I have DNF’d in the past 3 months.

The Best: Books I’ve Rated 5 Stars This Year So Far

I love that 8 of my reads so far have been 5 stars. 4 of these have been re-reads, so naturally those would be 5 stars as there’s a reason that I am re-reading them. However that still leaves 4 5-star reads so far this year, which is amazing.

The Worst: Books I’ve DNF’d This Year So Far

I’ve DNF’d 3 books so far this year, and one of them is a soft DNF. Forget Me Not and Bringing Down the Duke were book club reads that just unfortuantely were just not for me. The Registration Rewritten was a book I picked up on audio for my series challenge. I really enjoyed the first book to this one but after a good 15-20% of this book I realised that I wasn’t enjoying it as much, and I kind of with the first book had been left as a standalone. This is the one that’s more of a ‘soft’ DNF as I might decide to give it a go reading it physically, rather than listening to it in the future, but for now it’s a DNF.
