Spooky Season: Vampire Books

As it is October, I’m going to be sharing with you 5 of my favourite books from different creatures. Expect to see things like Zombies, Witches, Ghosts etc. But we’re starting off strong with Vampires. I’m still such a huge lover of Vampire books. I honestly just love books with them. So here are 5 of my favourite books with Vampires.

Twilight, Book 1 in the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

It wouldn’t be right to have a vampire books post without having this one now would it? It’s not the OG… not by a long shot but nobody can deny the impact that this book had on the Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance genre. Because I read this one a long, long time ago… I don’t actually have a review of this one. Maybe I’ll re-read the series at some point in order to review them. This is a completed series.

Vampire Academy, Book 1 in the Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead

I adore everything about this series. While Twilight probably started my interest in Paranormal Romance books, this is the Vampire book that made me obsessed. I absolutely love everything about this whole series. Again this is one that I read way before I started this blog so there isn’t a review of this one. This is a completed series, with a completed spin off series as well.

The Beautiful, Book 1 in The Beautiful Series by Renee Ahdieh

This is a very different type of Vampire book and so I felt like I really should include this one. The Beautiful is about a girl who moves to New Orleans and is caught up in trying to solve a murder… but half of the population of the town are Vampires. She also gets caught up in the glitz and glamour of Vampire wealth and parties and it’s really just a fun ride. I have only read book 1 so far in this series, so I can’t comment on whether the entire series is great or not. Empire of the Vampire, Book 1 in the Empire of a Vampire Series by Jay Kristoff

This again is a very different type of vampire book than the others on this list. If you’re looking for a romance… do not look here as you won’t find it. This book is brutal, dark and gritty. I absolutely loved it but it definitely won’t be for everyone. Click on the thumbnail of the cover to be taken to my review. Again, I have only read book 1 of this series but I loved it. This is an incomplete series. I believe there is one more book to come.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night, Book 1 in the Crowns of Nyaxia Series by Carissa Broadbent

This is a relatively new addition to my favourite Vampire books. I only recently finished this book but I absolutely loved it. It’s like The Hunger Games with Vampires and honestly… that is just everything I would love, and I did. I can’t wait to read the second book. Click on the thumbnail of the cover to be taken to my spoiler free review of the book. This is an incomplete series BUT a complete story ARC for the characters. This series is a set of duologies set in the same world but each duology follows a different couple.
