Spooky Season Recs: Zombies

Can you believe it’s the end of October? That means this is my final Spooky Season Recs post (cries!!). So for this week I have picked one of my favourites, but that doesn’t really seem very popular anymore. I had intended to recommend five books as I usually do, but it turns out I haven’t actually read all that many zombies books so instead here are  my top three favourite zombie books.

Feed by Mira Grant will forever be my all time favourite zombie series. This series is just another level, and while writing this it is just making me want to read it all over again. This one follows a group of bloggers living through the zombie apocalypse, trying to make a living from their blog coverage of real issues while trying to also not get bitten. This book is just EVERYTHING! To see my spoiler free review of FEED click here.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan is a zombie trilogy I read way back in the early 2000s and I fell head over heels in love with it. It is still to this day one of my favourite series of all time. It starts in book one following a girl who is living in a gated community that is determined to keep the zombies out, but she is desperate to see the ocean. It eventually goes into a storyline of who is really the bad guys, the zombies or the humans ruling the country. I freaking loved every moment of this book. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter is one of my all time favourite YA fairytale retellings. Alice in Wonderland plus zombies? What more could you want? This is fast paced, action packed and so heartwrenching. I loved every moment. This one is a proper nostalgic old school YA series and a definitely must-read for me.  To see my spoiler free review of Alice in Zombieland click here.

I’m always looking for more zombie books to add to my collection so if you have any favourites, let me know.
