I first picked up this series when an Illumicrate box featured the first book as an ARC. At the time, I didn’t really read sci-fi and really didn’t think I’d enjoy it. However, I decided to give it a chance and ended up absolutely loving it. As part of my 2022 series catch up challenge, I finally got around to picking up the second book in this trilogy. I am left kicking myself for not reading it sooner. This book was absolutely fantastic!

Nyxia Unleashed picks up where Nyxia left off, with our main characters on a new planet with a new job. However, now they know that none of them can trust Babel. Will they be able to find allies on this new planet with this new alien race? I really loved that this book took us to the new planet and we got to learn more about the motivations of the Adamite’s. I loved learning about them and seeing what made them tick. It made this book so much more enjoyable for me, to be able to see more of the alien race we only knew a little bit about in the first book.

Nyxia Unleashed is fast paced and action packed. I absolutely flew through this book. There are so many twists and turns and I truly couldn’t put it down. There are so many new secrets coming to light and revelations… from both Babel and the Adamite’s, and I loved trying to work out what was going to happen next and who Emmett and gang could trust. Some of the twists in this one really had me shocked… which is a huge thing for me as usually I guess everything a mile off. That really upped my enjoyment of this book.

This was a fantastic second instalment in this trilogy. It didn’t for a second suffer from ‘second book syndrome’ and the ending has left me hanging dying to find out how it’s all going to end. I can’t wait to dive into the third and final book and find out. If you haven’t picked this one up yet, I highly recommend it. This series is a must-read.
