5 Books With New Beginnings
January is the start of new beginnings for so many people. Whether you set new years resolutions or not, it’s the start of a brand new year. And so, I decided to share with you five of my favourite books that have new beginnings. Let me know if you’ve read any of them.
Threadneedle (The Language of Magic #1) by Cari Thomas was one of the first books that popped into my head when thinking about books with new beginnings. The main character has magic, but has been brought up being told magic is sin, never use it. In this book she finds a coven of witches and has friends for the first time and it really is the start of a new life for her. I really didn’t want this list to be all contemporary novels, so I just had to include this one.
The Beautiful (The Beautiful #1) by Renee Ahdieh was another fantasy book that popped into mind when thinking about new beginnings. In this one our character moves country to New Orleans and discovered that all kinds of magical folk exist. It’s the epitome of a new beginning as her eyes are opened to a whole new world that is out there.
Tempting the Best Man (Gamble Brothers #1) by Jennifer L Armentrout just had to be one on this list. In this one the new beginnings is discovering your love for someone and starting a new journey and life with them. This is a super quick spicy romantic read and if you haven’t already you need to read this one.
Clean (London Trilogy #1) by Juno Dawson is a raw, real and gritty tale of fighting for that new beginning. Our main character in this one has had a troubled past, is addicted to drugs, and ends up in rehab. It’s the start of a journey of showing her that there is life beyond addiction and her new start is right there, waiting for her to grasp it. Juno Dawson’s books are just so hard hitting but incredible.
On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher is a novel about new beginnings but in a very different way. The novel starts with the death of the main character, and as she is moving on she gets to open a door and revisit some of the best memories in her life. It’s a beautiful reflective novel and I loved it. I loved the concept of after death you get to remember your best parts before moving on to your new beginnings in the afterlife.
