Standalones I Wish Were Series

This month I’ve been having a month of reading standalones. I find standalones nice and refreshing as I usually read series all the time. But one thing I have found is I am often left wanting more. Here are five standalones I loved so much… I wish they were series.

Cursed by Jennifer L Armentrout was the first book that popped in my head when I first started thinking about this post. I read this back when it first released and I just feel like it would have made such an amazing series. Kids with powers would have made such a fantastic X-Men type series and I am still 9 years later wishing Jen would write a second one to this one.

Sparks by Wendy Higgins released last year. It’s a wonderful and hilarious stand alone romance but I think this could make an amazing series. Think like Wait For You by JLA or Marked Men by Jay Crownover where each book is a different couple. I’d love more from the Omega Skies ladies.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson is one of my all time favourite retellings. I completely understand why this isn’t a series… it doesn’t make sense for it to be series. But it’s one of my all time favourite books and I’d have loved to see more from Jodi in this Peter Pan world. It would have been fantastic.

Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe is listed as a series on Goodreads but technically it’s a standalone. There is a companion novella but there was never another book after this one. This was so perfect as a first book in a epic fantasy world and I would kill for there to be more in this world. I will die on this ‘make more Fireblood novels’ hill.

Obsession by Jennifer L Armentrout technically isn’t a standalone. It’s part of the bigger Lux world and it is set bang in the middle of the Lux series. However, I always wished that Jen had wrote more from the perspective of the Arum. I loved seeing it from the other side and I will always be desperately hoping for more.
