Welcome, welcome to Finale, the third and final book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Caraval series!Welcome, welcome to Caraval…all games must come to an end.
It’s been two months since the last Caraval concluded, two months since the Fates have been freed from an enchanted deck of cards, two months since Tella has seen Legend, and two months since Legend claimed the empire’s throne as his own. Now, Legend is preparing for his official coronation and Tella is determined to stop it. She believes her own mother, who still remains in an enchanted sleep, is the rightful heir to the throne.
Meanwhile, Scarlett has started a game of her own. She’s challenged Julian and her former fiancé, Count Nicolas d’Arcy, to a competition where the winner will receive her hand in marriage. Finally, Scarlett feels as if she is in complete control over her life and future. She is unaware that her mother’s past has put her in the greatest danger of all.
Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun―with lives, empires, and hearts all at stake. There are no spectators this time: only those who will win…and those who will lose everything.
“Enough would never be enough for Tella. She wanted a love worth fighting for, but immortals couldn’t love.”
After devouring Legendary early last week, I was so excited to read Finale. I was so very excited to dive back into this stunning, magical world and see how it all played out. I was dying to get a happy ending for my favourite characters. Finale was the absolutely perfect ending to what is now one of my all time favourite series. I loved every single moment of this book and felt like it could have just gone on forever and I would never get enough.
Finale had two point of views throughout it, unlike the previous two books. In Caraval, we saw everything through Scarlett’s eyes, Legendary through Tella’s. In this final instalment we get both. I really loved that about Finale. I preferred Tella’s perspective chapters as I prefer Tella as a character, but I thought it was perfect that we got to see the final instalment of this series through the eyes of both sisters. It just fitted this story so well and it worked perfectly.
Once again, Stephanie grabbed me right from the start and transported me into this world of love, magic and Fates. I love absolutely everything about this world and honestly, I am absolutely heartbroken that it is over. I just adored everything about this book. The characters, the world, the storyline all told though Stephanie’s signature magical writing style. It was utterly perfect.
Finale was the perfect ending. It was just incredible! It was fast-paced and full of twists and turns. I guessed most of them, but that didn’t make the journey through this book any less enjoyable. In fact I got even more excited that I was right. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend it. If you love a good fantastical story, with stunning writing, and a stunning, magical romance, then this one is without a doubt a must-read. This series is definitely on my re-read list.
“Most of my life, I’ve romanticised death. I used to love the idea of something being so tremendous that it was worth dying for. But I was wrong. I think the most magnificent things are worth living for.”
