The Biggest Tearjerkers
It’s not a surprise to anyone who knows me that I’m a crier. I’m a very emotional reader and honestly, it’s quite an achievement to not have me cry at a book. But what books made me cry the most? Here’s 5 that made me sob like a baby!
Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer is one of the most emotional books ever. It’s a contemporary romance book about two people meeting and helping each other in their grief. Before I read this book, I knew it was going to make me cry. It’s a huge look into the process of dealing with grief. It’s beautiful and perfect but it will make you sob.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is a contemporary romance between two teens who are dealing with cancer. Of course this one is going to be on the tearjerker lists. This one was the first audiobook I ever listened to and I sobbed so, so hard. Like I was a mess and I couldn’t breathe by the end of this one. If you’re looking for a book that you want to cry at, look no further.
Feed by Mira Grant is one of the surprises on this list. Did I think going into a dystopian novel with zombies that I was going to sob so hard I couldn’t breathe? Nope! Did I? YEP! This one hit me like a freaking train coming out of nowhere! It’s one of the most emotionally devastating books I have ever read… but it’s awesome and one of my favourite books!
Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman was the first book to every devastate me. I was sobbing for like hours and hours after finishing this book. And everytime I stopped and composed myself… I’d remember the book and start sobbing again. This is one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read. If you can read this one and not cry… you are a monster!
Soulmates by Holly Bourne is one of my all time favourite books. Holly Bourne has made a name for herself as queen of contemporary. This one is contemporary with a little bit of magic and it’s my favourite of her books. But man… did this one destroy my soul. This one is always at the top of my list of tearjerkers. I’ve only ever read it the once because of how much it made me cry!
What books have made you cry?
