Favourite Chick-Lit Books

I’ve done so many posts about all the different genres that I read. One that I never usually mention is chick-lit books. I don’t read them a whole lot but I do have a soft spot for a good chick-lit books. This was the very first genre I read, with one of my favourites, being the reason I became a bookworm and this blog existing. So here you go my favourite chick-lit books…

PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern was the very first book I read for pleasure back when I was a young teen. I picked it up after it was added on a reading list for an English class I had in school. I fell in love with Cecelia Ahern with this book and she’s still one of my favourite authors. This is the first book that made me cry. I was so emotionally invested and it’s still to this day one of my all-time favourite books. I’ve read the sequel last year and although I was skeptical about it after all this time, I loved it. I was left completely in love and wanting to re-read the first book again.

Lucy in the Sky by Paige Toon is one of my favourite books of all time. I read this one years and years ago after finding it in a charity shop. I devoured it! And I have now read every single Paige Toon book. I don’t read a lot of contemporary/romance/chick lit anymore but I always make an exception for Paige Toon. She’s such an amazing author and her books are always emotional, funny and uplifting. I love them and if I’m ever going through tough times Lucy in the Sky is my go-to to cheer me up.

On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher was a chick lit book I only recently read. I read this one last year and I absolutely loved it. It’s a heart warming romantic rollercoaster ride with a dash of magic. As a typical fantasy reader that hint of magic is the perfect addition for me. I loved every single moment of it and the rest of Carrie’s books are on my immediate TBR.

Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts by Lucy Dillon is another one that I read years ago. I read this one right near Christmas which was the perfect time of year to read it. It’s a romantic story that includes dogs and their owners finding love. As a huge dog lover this was just the perfect chick lit book for me.

Wrong by Jana Aston is a bit of a cheat really. It’s not really a chick lit book, it’s more of a contemporary adult romance, but I had ran out of chick-lit books and I really wanted this list to have five books. This is a hilarious romance and it is one that I’ve re-read many times. It’s definitely a go-to if you need a good laugh.
