Jackson From Amaretto Flame Takes Over K-Books

Hi. You probably don’t know me, but my name is Jackson Vance and I appear in Sammie Spencer’s Amaretto Flame. Kayleigh, the host of this blog, gave me permission to take over for today and post a little something for you guys. Since today is Mother’s Day in the US, I thought I’d tell you a little story about my mom. 

My mom’s name is Claire, and Claire had an amazing ability that was noticed when she was very young. All Wise Ones have some magick ability. Claire had the ability to switch the powers of two Wise Ones. So, she could make a fire-user able to heal and make the healer a fire-user. When Claire was a teenager, her coven was attacked and most of them died. However, she was taken back with the Venator (witch hunters) because one of them took a liking to her. He made her his wife in a few years, and demanded that she showcase her ability to all who were interested. 

Claire hated this man, but had learned to keep her mouth shut. She had planned to escape as soon as she could, once she gathered her courage and the supplies she would need. Before she had managed to escape, she became pregnant. She thought she should want the baby to die, to miscarry in the womb, but from the moment she learned about her baby, she loved it. The baby was born, a healthy boy with copper hair, and Claire knew she couldn’t escape with an infant. She waited patiently until the baby was a small child, five years old, and then she escaped. 

Not only did Claire escape, but she killed the Venator who had held her. My mother has sacrificed her entire life to make sure I was safe. Mothers are pretty amazing. If you’re one, I salute you. There is no love like that of a mother for her child. If you’re not a mother, give yours a big hug today (no matter where you are in the world) and tell her you love her!
