In the highly anticipated finale to the Bone Witch trilogy, Tea’s life—and the fate of the kingdoms—hangs in the balance
Tea is a bone witch with the dark magic needed to raise the dead. She has used this magic to breathe life into those she has loved and lost…and those who would join her army against the deceitful royals. But Tea’s quest to conjure a shadowglass—to achieve immortality for the one person she loves most in the world—threatens to consume her heart.
Tea’s black heartsglass only grows darker with each new betrayal. And when she is left with new blood on her hands, Tea must answer to a power greater than the elder asha or even her conscience…
One of my 2026 reading challenges is to finish some of the series that I have started and not finished. The Bone Witch trilogy was the first on my list. I really enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy back in 2021 when I read them. While I was excited to see how the series ended for Tea, I will say I’d lost a little bit of my excitement for this series as I couldn’t remember a lot of the details. In retrospect, I do think that having such a large gap between the books definitely affected my enjoyment of The Shadowglass significantly.
The Shadowglass was fast paced and action packed. Right from the start we were thrown back into the world of dark magic and necromancy. I really loved the premise of this whole series, with there being different levels of magic wielders, and Tea being someone who should be a dark character but her love for her brother keeps her just on the right side. I love that while there is a romantic plotline in the series it is the familial love that keeps her going more than anything. It was such a beautiful plotline and I really enjoyed it.
This was such a great ending to a highly enjoyable series. I am so glad I finally picked this one up and finished it. I really did enjoy seeing how everything played out. I do think I’d have enjoyed it more had I read the books back to back, but it was a joy to finally finish it. It’s not one I would read again, but if you’re a fan of dark fantasy, I would definitely recommend this trilogy to you.
