Under-Rated Dystopia Novels / Series
Keeping in line with my post earlier this week, my second book of the year was a YA Dystopia novel. I am absolutely obsessed with dystopia but honestly it’s not a genre I read a lot of in the past few years, so here are some of my all time favourites that I think don’t get the traction they definitely deserve.
- Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston is a YA Dystopia where the world is like a new ice age and dragons are forced to live in their human form permanently as they are being hunted.
- Flawed by Cecelia Ahern is a YA Dystopia where perfection is expected and anyone who makes any mistake or commits a crime is branded with an F for everyone to see.
- The Rain by Virginia Bergin is a YA Dystopia where the rain is poisonous and if you touch tap water, you die. The bottled water is running out.
- Pawn by Aimee Carter is a YA Dystopia where people live depending to their rank. When Kitty, a girl who is of the lowest rank is given a choice to be changed and she can live forever as the highest rank she jumps at the chance but not everything is as it seems.
- Breathe by Sarah Crossan is a YA Dystopia where the world has no air, and people have to pay to be able to breathe.

Another really great YA Dystopian is Dustborn by Erin Bowban.
