Spooky Season: Zombies
Welcome to the second Spooky Season recommendations post and this time, we’re talking about Zombie books. I’m such a big lover of Zombie books, but while compiling this post, I realised I haven’t read as much as I would have liked. I need to change this in the next year ready for Spooky Season 2025.

Feed, Book 1 in the Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant
No Zombie list would be complete without Feed by Mira Grant. This is the book that made me fall in love and obsess with Zombie books in the first place. Set in a world where they found a cure for the common cold and a cure for Cancer but when the two cures got in the same body it caused death and then reannimation. It follows a group of bloggers who are travelling the USA and reporting on the reality of living in a Zombie infested world. Click on the thumbnail to see my spoiler free review. The Forest of Hands and Teeth, Book 1 in The Forest of Hands and Teeth Series by Carrie Ryan
This entire series is absolutely incredible. The first book is set in a gated community where the church rules the community and nobody is allowed past the fence… as that’s where the zombies are and the will get you. But which is the bigger danger, the zombies or the people ruling the community? I honestly loved everything about this series. Click on the thumbnail to be taken to my spoiler free review. This is a completed series.
Alice in Zombieland, Book 1 in the White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter
A retelling of Alice in Wonderland… but with zombies! I loved everything about this one. The zombies are a little different in that most people cannot see them. They live in the shadows. However out main character can see them and while most people think she’s insane she finds a group of zombie killers, who show her that she is not insane. She’s just made to protect people from what they can’t see. Click on the thumbnail for my spoiler free review. This is a completed series.
Die For Me, Book 1 in the Revenants Series by Amy Plum
This one does zombies in a different way. They aren’t brain eating monsters, or monsters coming for your flesh… instead they look just like a human. But when they die, they reanimate and they are there to protect people from even bigger evils. Set in Paris, I absolutely loved everything about this entire series. Dead Beautiful, Book 1 in the Dead Beautiful Trilogy by Yvonne Woon
Another series that does Zombies differently. Much like Die For Me, the zombies in this one are not monsters. They are just an undead human like creature living a normal life. Or are they? I’ve only read books 1 and 2 of this trilogy so far so do need to go and finish this one soon but I really enjoyed both books. I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
