Autumnal Reads
As you can probably tell by the theme of this week’s posts… I am so ready for Autumn! So today I thought I’d share with you some Autumnal reads. The first 5 books are going to be recommendations of books I have already read, and the last 5 books are going to be books I am hoping to read this Autumn.
Recommendations
Sawkill Girls is a book that I read a number of years ago but I just remember it being creepy and atmospheric. It’s not my favourite book I’ve ever read, but I still recommend it as I think that for other people this will be such a great read that they will love. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches will always be on every Autumnal list I ever make. It’s cosy and happy and one of my favourite books of all time. Plus it has witches so what more could you possibly want for this time of year? Click here to see my spoiler free review.
The Ex Hex is similar to ‘Irregular Witches’ in that it will always be on my recommendations for Autumn / Spooky Season. It’s just witchy fun and super cute. I just love these books and I am desperately awaiting the third book releasing. Click here to read my spoiler free review.
Now Darkfever I don’t know if it’s really Autumnal or not, but it just gives off these dark vibes. I adore everything about this series and while it was a very popular and hyped series back when I first read it, I don’t see as many people talking about it anymore. I am definitely due a re-read of this series. I have only read the first 6 books but loved every single one of them. I definitely need more people to read this series. And finally… while I am not a big Classics reader, Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite books of all time. It’s dark and atmospheric and who wouldn’t want to spend some of Autumn in the gloomy moors with Cathy and Heathcliff? Are both of them the worst characters ever? Yes… Do I still re-read and love everything about them though? Obviously! Now I haven’t actually read this in a long long time so I need to re-read so I can review it.
Books I Am Aiming To Read This Autumn
Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what you thought!
