From Goodreads:
Catalina Martín desperately needs a date to her sister’s wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiralled out of control. Now everyone she knows—including her ex and his fiancée—will be there and eager to meet him.

She only has four weeks to find someone willing to cross the Atlantic and aid in her deception. New York to Spain is no short flight and her raucous family won’t be easy to fool.

Enter Aaron Blackford—her tall, handsome, condescending colleague—who surprisingly offers to step in. She’d rather refuse; never has there been a more aggravating, blood-boiling, and insufferable man.

But Catalina is desperate, and as the wedding draws nearer, Aaron looks like her best option. And she begins to realize he might not be as terrible in the real world as he is at the office.

The Spanish Love Deception has been on my TBR since it came out. It released right around the time that I started to get back into contemporary romance. I had read and loved The Love Hypothesis and so many people were rating this book as perfect for fans of The Love Hypothesis. I finally decided to pick it up after having it recommended to me from a few people, and I have to say…. I don’t get it!

I really didn’t like anything about this book. The writing felt kind of clunky to me, and the characters were the most irritating characters I think I have ever read in my entire life. Catalina is annoying and desperate… yet refuses anyone’s help. Aaron is boring… and I don’t know what he sees in Cataline. I honestly just didn’t like a single thing about this book. I think I got to around 20% before I DNF’d it. It’s definitely not for me, and I won’t be picking up anything else from this author in the future.
