5 Dark Academia Books On My TBR
Earlier this week I shared with you 5 books I love that have academic / back to school vibes. Well along with those, I have an abundance of dark academia books on my TBR. So to stay with this week’s theme of ‘Back to School’ I am going to share with you five Dark Academia books that are still on my TBR.
Babel by RF Kuang has been on my TBR since it first released. I haven’t read anything by RF Kuang yet and I have been debated whether I start with this one or read The Poppy War first. I have also heard that this one is a heavy read, and I really feel like I need to be off work, when I have time to think and process everything properly, to read this one.
The Cloisters by Katy Hays is another one that’s been on my TBR since its release. I actually received an ARC of this one and just never got around to it. I won’t lie… it’s that stunning cover that makes me want to read it. It just looks so beautiful and sounds creepy and atmospheric. Maybe I’ll add this one to my October TBR.
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik is one that’s been on my TBR… then purged from the TBR… and then added again. I originally had the Illumicrate special edition but then I sold that as I heard very mixed things about this one when it was first released… but then I got the audio edition when it was on sale to try it. Hopefully I’ll get to this one soon.
The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake is another one that I have heard very mixed things about. I loved this author’s YA book so I am determined to give this one a go. I hear its Dark Academia and kind of sci-fi so who knows maybe I’ll love it?
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab. I’ll be honest I have no idea if this one actually is dark academia as I know nothing about this book. I buy everything VE Schwab writes and so I didn’t even need to read the blurb, but I found it on a Dark Academia list on Goodreads so I just thought I’d go with it and add it to this list.
