Quick Reads: Book Recommendations Under 300 Pages

We all love a good quick read. The vast majority of the books I read are usually between 400 and 600 pages, but every now and then, I love a nice quick read to try and bump up my reading challenge. Here are five super short books, all with page counts that come under 300 pages.

  • If I Stay, the first book in the If I Stay duology by Gayle Forman. This one is a YA Contemporary book and the page count comes out at 201. It’s an emotional read and I highly recommend it.
  • Frigid, the first book in the Frigid duology by Jennifer L Armentrout. This one is a NA Contemporary with mystery/thriller influences. The page count of this one comes out at 252.
  • City of Ghosts, the first book in the Cassidy Blake series by VE Schwab. This one is a middle grade Paranormal series about a girl who can see ghosts, who visits famously haunted cities. I love this whole series, and the first books’ page count comes out at 272. The whole series are super fun, short and quick reads.
  • Gravity, the first book in The Taking series by Melissa West. This one is a YA Sci-fi series with a romance between human and alien. I adore this trilogy, and the first book comes out at 284 pages.
  • And finally, The Midnight Library is a standalone by Matt Haig. This one is an Adult Magical Realism novel. It’s such a wonderful and moving read and the page count is only 288, making this a nice quick read.

Thanks for these “quick read” recommendations. I do enjoy a fast read especially when I’m traveling! I am one week away from a beach trip so bingeworthy vacation reads are at the top of my TBR list right now. I read Tom’s Ride (Book #12 of the Morgan’s Run Series) by M. Lee Prescott last weekend as recommended by a friend who knows I’m a sucker for a good contemporary romance novel. It also clocks in at 214 pages. I was immediately invested in the love story between Grace and Tom as they both clearly deserve a break from their struggles and were people I could relate to and empathize with. Tom Jacobi leaves his home in Montana after a scathing divorce and ends up in a new town where he meets Grace. She is trying to take care of everything including her ailing father and the family business. I also was super stoked to find found out it’s Book #12 of a whole saga called the “Morgan’s Run Series,” so now I’m DEFINITELY going to binge the rest of the novels!
