Favourite Fairyloot and Illumicrate Books

I’ve been a long time subscriber of both Illumicrate and Fairyloot. I subscribed to both of them long before they ever had a waiting list and I am so glad that I did. There are so many books I discovered through these book boxes, and I probably wouldn’t have picked these books up if they hadn’t have been included. So here are ten of my favourite books that I discovered through Fairyloot and Illumicrate

Fairyloot Books

• Only A Monster by Vanessa Len is a YA Fantasy that really questions what makes a hero and what makes a monster. I loved this one and I can’t wait for the next book.
• Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer is a YA Fantasy set in a world ravaged by a deadly disease. There’s some major Robin Hood vibes of outlaws stealing medicine for those who can’t afford it.
• The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna was a surprise for me. One of the Fairyloot ‘secondary’ books in one of their boxes but I loved it. It’s a YA Fantasy that looks at gods and monsters, and people who fear what they don’t understand.
• Fable by Adrienne Young is a YA Fantasy with pirates, and treasure and a heartstopping romance. I love everything about this duology.
• The Prison Healer is probably my favourite out of these five books. I had never heard of it before receiving it in the box and I fell head over heels in love with it. It was my favourite read of 2021 and I am dying to get my hands on the final book.

Illumicrate Books

• Nyxia by Scott Reintgen is a book that is so far out of my comfort zone. I never would have picked this YA Sci-fi up if it hadn’t have been included as an ARC in Illumicrate. But I absolutely devoured it and loved every single moment of it.
• Another sci-fi that I wouldn’t have read if it hadn’t been in Illumicrate’s books. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was the start of my sci-fi obsession. This whole series is just utterly phenomenal.
• The Ravens by Kass Morgan and Danielle Paige is an addictive NA Paranormal romance with witches, and romance and it is way darker than you think. I adored this duology.
• The City of Brass is an Adult Fantasy book that I had never heard of before it appeared in Illumicrate as an addiction ARC. I picked it up and fell head over heels in love with it. This is one of my all time favourite series and I can’t thank Illumicrate enough for bringing this series into my life.
• Blood Heir is a YA Fantasy that is filled to the brim with action and intrigue and magic. I had heard mixed things about it before getting it in the Illumicrate box and I probably wouldn’t have picked it up had it not been in there. But I’m glad I did as I adore this fantasy retelling of Anastasia.
