My name is Harriet Manners and I’ll be a geek forever…Harriet Manners knows almost every fact there is.
Modelling isn’t a sure-fire route to popularity. Neither is making endless lists. The people you love don’t expect you to transform into someone else. Statistically, you are more likely to not meet your Australian ex-boyfriend in Australia than bump into him there.
So on the trip of a lifetime Down Under Harriet’s to-do lists are gone and it’s Nat’s time to shine! Yet with nearly-not-quite-boyfriend Jasper back home, Harriet’s completely unprepared to see supermodel ex Nick. Is the fashion world about to turn ugly for GEEK GIRL?
It’s time for Harriet to face the future. Time to work out where her heart lies. To learn how to let go…
“I’m slowly beginning to realise how ironic it is that I’m so good at learning lessons inside school, and so terrible at learning any outside it.”
I first started the Geek Girl series years ago back when it was first releasing. I have really enjoyed every single book in this series, and I am so glad that I finally picked up the final book. I am really bad for actually finishing series, so I finally picked this one up in a bid to finish some of those series. Forever Geek was such a satisfying conclusion to this super fun series.
Forever Geek follows our favourite geeky model Harriet Manners as she goes to Australia for a fun few weeks. Thrown into a modelling disaster in Australia, you can expect just as much hilarity as I have come to expect in a Geek Girl book. I just love the disasters Harriet always finds herself in. Even though I’m sat there thinking… no Harriet… don’t do that! You also can’t stop reading because you need to know how this disaster is going to end.
Forever Geek really was an incredible end to a fantastic series. It had me experiencing every emotion throughout this book. I was in hysterics laughing on minute, swooning with the cute romance the next, and sobbing the next. It’s an emotional journey for sure and I loved each and every moment of it. Is the plot a little predictable at times? Yes, it is. But that didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. Sometimes I just really enjoy reading fun predictable plots. I read for fun after all.
I am so happy I finally finished this series. Holly Smale is such a fantastic YA author and she is definitely one of my go-tos when I want a fun read. If you want a fun, laugh out loud series to read this summer you definitely need to pick up the Geek Girl series. It’s fantastic, and I’m really going to miss Harriet Manners and all her crazy escapades. Forever Geek was a brilliant ending to a fantastic series. This is definitely one I will read over and over again.
“Because the people I love always find their way back in the end.”
