Top 10 of 2020: Top 10 2021 Releases I Can’t Wait For

I can’t believe we have reached the end of our Top 10 of 2020 posts. This time it’s the 2021 releases I cannot wait to get my hands on. I have slightly cheated on this one and included two in the number 1 spot. They’re by the same author though so it’s totally fine!

  • 10. Lore by Alexandra Bracken – Publishing January 5, 2021
    • I am already a huge fan of Alexandra Bracken, having read and loved her The Darkest Minds trilogy. I’m a huge lover of books involving mythology so I can’t wait to see her take on a mythology based fantasy novel.
  • 9. The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary – Publishing April 29, 2021
    • This year I fell head over heels in love with Beth’s The Flat Share. She is now on my auto-buy authors list and I am counting down the days until I can get my hands on her newest.
  • 8. Bridge of Souls by VE Schwab – Publishing March 2, 2021
    • I have read and enjoyed quite a lot of VE Schwab’s series, but there is just something about this middle grade spooky series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the third instalment of this series. I’ll probably leave it till October to read it as it’s the perfect Halloween read.
  • 7. Mina and the Undead by Amy McCaw – Publishing April 1, 2021
    • I can’t even tell you how excited I am for Mina and the Undead. I’m very lucky to be friends with Amy and I can’t wait for her debut to hit shelves. I have the ARC of this one on my kindle already and I’m super excited about it.
  • 6. The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa – Publishing February 9, 2021
    • Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am about Puck’s story. I fell in love with the Iron Fey world about 10 years ago and Puck was always my favourite character. I’m so excited Julie is going back to this series and writing this series centreing around Puck.
  • 5. Red Tigress by Amelie Wen Zhao – Publishing March 2, 2021
    • This year I fell head over heels in love with this Anastasia fantasy retelling. I am so unbelievably excited to get my hands on the sequel and see what happens next. This is one that is getting pre-ordered… as soon as the Illumicrate special edition is available to order.
  • 4. Prey / Legacy by Hannah McBride – Publishing January (Prey); April (Legacy) 2021
    • Hannah McBride has gone from an unknown to one of my number one authors. I’ve included both Prey and Legacy here as I’ve already been lucky enough to read Prey and I can’t wait for Legacy!
  • 3. A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas – February 16, 2021
    • I’ve been a Sarah J Maas fan for almost 10 years and I still get super excited for every release. I’m not a huge fan of Nesta but I’m sure Sarah will make me love her eventually. I can’t wait!
  • 2. A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer – January 26, 2021
    • Brigid is one of my favourite authors of all time. I’ve loved everything she has wrote and I was so excited she wrote a fantasy series, especially when I discovered that it was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It’s become so much more than that and I am so excited to see how the series ends. I believe she has another book coming out in 2021 as well but there’s no information or cover yet so I thought I’d leave that until I know more.
  • 1. The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L Armentrout – April 20, 2021
    • My number 1 spot is shared by two JLA releases I am dying for. The first is the third instalment of the Blood and Ash series. I’m super excited to see what happens next… mainly because there is going to be dragons (I’m so fucking excited!) but I also can’t wait to swoon some more over Poppy and Cas.
  • 1. Grace and Glory by Jennifer L Armentrout – June 1, 2021
    • I am so excited and so terrified for Grace and Glory. I’m so excited because this is my favourite JLA series and it has my favourite character of all time (Zayne) but at the same time I am heartbroken that the series is coming to an end.

Honourable Mention: Book 3 of the Aurora Cycle by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

  • I am absolutely dying to get my hands on the third book in the Aurora Cycle but as we don’t have a title, cover or release date I couldn’t really add it to this list. I’m still holding out hope that it will be a 2021 release.
