Among the Nameless Stars and For Darkness Shows the Stars have both been sat on my kindle unread for so long. After organising a buddy read with some friends for For Darkness Shows the Stars, I finally decided to pick up this prequel novella before going on and reading the first book.
Among the Nameless Stars takes place years before the first novel in this series. I enjoyed reading this novella. One thing I appreciated about it was the length. I’ve read so many novellas that I have felt were too short or way too long but I actually really liked the length of this one. It was long enough to give you a good introduction to the main character but short enough that it didn’t get boring.
Although I enjoyed this novella I do feel like it’s probably best read after having read For Darkness Shows the Stars. It didn’t really delve into the terminology that they use in this world so I was a little bit confused as to why things were the way they were. It wasn’t really fully explained. I’m assuming it will be in the first book of the series. Regardless, I can’t wait to dive into the next book.
